The construction was planned as an extensive Two-Phase design, and when completed, the course will play to a length of over 7430 yards. The second phase included a Driving Range and a Golf Academy, which will then again help spread the game to more people.
Five large lakes covering sixty seven thousand square meters adorn the landscape providing exciting challenges to golfers and a treat to the environmentalists. The vast body of water has also thrown up options for aqua culture and water sports The water bodies filled in by storm water during the monsoon not only supports the elaborate irrigation system but also acts as a source to recharge and maintain the water table in adjoining areas benefitting the surrounding communities.
The course has many unique features. CGC is a challenging all weather championship course that caters to all skill levels of golfers and the design philosophy of the course is based on Risk and Reward. It is the first course in the country to offer an Island green named General's creek on the 18th Hole, and the first course in Kerala to boast a 18-Hole course.
